painting in progress

This is a painting in progress right now.  It's a larger piece.  24" x 24" watercolor paper mounted to wood.  I am trying some new techniques and layers.  I'm not sure where the process will take me...but I've got to keep going.  I'm learning a lot, having fun, and that makes me excited to get to my studio every day.

When we first moved to Atlanta, I took over our huge basement as my studio.  But, it just didn't have enough sunlight for me.  So I convinced my 18 year old to give up his bedroom for an entire apartment in the basement.  It didn't take much convincing.  Now, I have a much smaller space...but it's flooded with sunlight.
Tokyo is pretty happy about it too.

Back to work!  Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Having lots of sunlight in your studio space makes such a huge difference! Glad you have managed to make it work :)
I love the painting so far and can't wait to see where you end up going with it.

  2. Love where this is going, Wy. You know how Sarah loves her Bunny! She would love this. I hope you are doing well!

  3. It lured me in right away....beautiful piece!

Yes, gotta have the creation is a plant that needs sunlight to grow....heehee!

  4. dear Wyanne, I think you are just such a fabulous artist. I've already left you a comment on another post regarding your watercolour online workshop I have enjoyed so much. You are such.a lovely, sincere, spontaneous, experienced and magical instructor; I cannot wait for a future course to come. Your new work is very soothing and majestic. Lots of love. Gloria

  5. I just love this rabbit so much, Wyanne! You are such an inspiration. I'm so glad that you are willing to share your skills with us! I am turning 40 in June, and yes, this birthday really does have a way of making us want to reinvent ourselves.

  6. I hear you on the sunlight. My teen son has a much bigger room than my sun filled studio as well! Lighting is everything.

I ♥ to hear from you! Thank you so much!!!
