fairies and flowers.....

My friend, Casey (an incredible artist) sent me a link this morning. Someone had posted the flowers from my studio front door on their blog. Isn't that cool! The blog is called, "What I Saw On My Walk Today", by Theresa an innkeeper here on the Island. I hope to meet her soon. I wanted to show you my new fairy painting and video today, but my new video camera isn't working yet with my old software. So, I decided to share this with you instead because there is a cute story behind these flowers.

Wine Husband got the pretty pots for me several months ago. One day before he left for Atlanta, he planted some really bright orange flowers in them to surprise me. I was so thrilled. Then the next morning I came back to the studio to find holes where my flowers used to be. Talk about high to low....I was bummed about it all day. BUT then the next morning....I came back to the studio and these GORGEOUS flowers were planted.

My little one...7 year old Logan, thinks the fairies did it.

Hmmm......

More tomorrow.

beginnings.....

Thank you to everyone for your concern and well wishes concerning my bad week. I'm really very good right now. A little love goes a long way....even through the Internet. :)

So...I just finished this painting. It's called "Beginnings". There is a lot of negative talk swirling around right now (thanks to the media) about the economy. How things are bad, etc. I try extra, super hard not to listen to it. The more we listen to it, talk about it...the more we will manifest it. So, we all just need to stop. I received my regular email from Joe Vitale this morning, addressing this same issue. Here's a quote from it:

"Stop paying attention to the media.

Stop paying attention to the doom and
gloom of anyone and everyone around.

Stop getting sucked into being a victim.

STOP IT.

You won't go anywhere buying into the
cultural trance that there isn't enough
and times are tough.

You won't accomplish your big goals, or
do anything of real greatness as long as
you give in to outer circumstances."

He's right. We are all in control of our own happiness. I found this
out again for the 100th time last week. So, I'm having a beginning.
I'm not going to allow myself to go to dark side. :) I'm not going
to listen to the media, or allow myself to be zapped of my positive
energy by negative people. I'm going to be consciously happy and
positive. I think it's perfectly fine to have lots of beginnings. We
all need to take inventory of our soul, and make sure we are still
on the right path. When you don't, you wind up on auto pilot like
me, this past week. You get so caught up in the worry, the doubt,
and the taking care of everyone else's needs...that you ignore
yourself. And if you start doing that long enough...trust me...it
will catch up with you one way or another. For me...I ignored a
foot injury..until it got so bad that it wouldn't let me ignore it
anymore. Now, the worst (for me, anyway) has come. After
finally seeking a medical professional's advice...I have found that
for the next couple of months I have to wear these!!!!!!

Ugh!!!! Crocs! Crocs are for kids!!! I said I would NEVER, EVER.... What would Stacy and Clinton think? And to make it worse...I can't wear the semi-cute new styles! But...being that even this is a new beginning....I will make the best out of it. I am constantly amazed how comfortable they are...and my foot is thanking me already....really....

So...I promise in my new beginning to stay in my hAppY pLaCe...even while wearing Crocs. It's such a great positive place to be!!! And you know what...there's room there for you too!!! But please, please... just don't look at my feet.......

Love,
Wyanne

PS. a big announcement tomorrow...stay tuned.....AND yes...even though there was a little glitch with the new Etsy store. Everything is still 20% off the price shown in the store. I will email you a revised invoice.

be.....

I need to just "be" for a while. That's what this painting is all about...in case you can't read it on the painting...It says, "Wish, Dream, Be". Things have been a little more than hectic these past few weeks. I've felt like my head was spinning around like crazy. There have been some great things happening (I promise to tell you all about them soon, can't yet...) and some not so great things happening. I already told you about Pops and Wine Husband being out of town...but the topper was a cease and desist letter that I received from a company called Modern Past. I had named my new Etsy shop that because I wanted a short and sweet name for Etsy. Oops. I stepped on their toes... I was sorry, and they were very understanding. Now, I have to move everything back to the original store. A little more work...and a larger lesson learned.

I discovered that I've been on autopilot. I was so busy worrying about everything...that I forgot to wish...dream....and more importantly, just be. Going around worrying and just going through the motions was not good. I wasn't allowing myself to take the time for me. It was very counterproductive. So, I'm taking the time to breathe...to take care of myself...to not worry...to wish...to dream...and just "be". Being the best I can...knowing it is enough...and knowing the Universe will handle the rest.

lots of love,

my beeswax technique....

I get a lot of emails with questions about the Beeswax technique that I use for my paintings. So, I decided to make a video devoted to the technique exclusively. This painting is a good example because it uses lots of different types of papers which react to the beeswax differently. It's pretty technical...with no fun music...but I hope you'll still like it.

i'm back......

Sorry I checked out for a while. But I'm back now.... I needed a little nap. :)

No....Really....I've been busy. Now Wine Husband is back in Atlanta for 10 days. The good news is that Pops (my father in law) is out of the hospital and back home. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

So lots of great things are happening. One is so super exciting and I can't tell you about it yet...till it's a done deal. But...it's big...big...big....

I was reading through Etsy feedback the other day...and I saw where someone said that they "wished Wyanne would make more jewelry". I thought...wow...I wish I did too. So, I spent the afternoon of the 4th of July making jewelry. It was so much fun. I love finding all the vintage components and then making them into something new. I also love the technical side. The part that requires the other side of my brain to function more. I think it gets a little lopsided sometimes when I paint, paint and paint everyday.

So, I'm happy to report that the brain is a little bit more evened out these days. The jewelry really helps me loosen up with my painting and take more chances. I learn more. That's really good.

I decided that the jewelry needed a home of it's own on Etsy. So, I opened a new store for it exclusively. It's called Modern Past. Right now, to celebrate the GRAND OPENING of the new store...you can take 20% off your purchases at either Etsy store!!!!

I'll be adding more jewelry soon. And my bff is getting back from Prague next week, and she promised to bring back some cool jewelry stuff for me to play with.
So...I'll be adding new things daily. I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think.

Well...gotta get home.

Love you guys....
