Quick-I'm on etsy's homepage...

What an astounding day it has already been! I've been so blessed this morning! Wine Husband got home from Atlanta safely in the wee hours...I managed to get the kids to school on time without a minute to spare, had a incredible cranberry orange muffin from CHEZ LEZAN bakery that was still warm in the middle...and one of my necklace's got featured on etsy's homepage this morning. The necklace was picked in a member-curated gallery treasure that etsy puts up on the homepage for a short period of time. So, it won't be there for long, but you can look at the beautiful treasury called Blue Moon by clicking here.Pin It

Going Old School....

The weather on the Island this weekend, has been cloudy, rainy and very windy. Wine Husband had to go back to Atlanta to work on our old house, and I've had the kids. So, instead of going to the studio, we spent most of our Sunday at home. My aspiring 13 year old artist and I had a conversation recently about how I studied Fine Art Photography in art school, but no longer shoot pictures. I tried to explain to him that the digital age kinda ruined it for me...but he has no concept of a darkroom, film and chemicals. But, the convo got me thinking about shooting again. So, after a week of working the concept details out...I started a series of photo collages. I wanted them to have vintage charm, with interesting colors and textures. I really enjoyed working on them...and already have plans for more. So, a cloudy Sunday was turned into new magic. Please let me know how you like them.Pin It

A Day Late and a Dollar....

I'm a day late posting the items for Temptation Friday. Sorry about that, but other obligations got in the way. I'm working on it today, and should have the goodies up shortly. In the meantime...enjoy the beauty of the Island. This is what I get to look at everyday on my way to the studio.....Pin It

Christmas Craft Fair Nov. 23

I'm going to be participating the Christmas Craft Fair, Nov. 23 sponsored by Shabby In the City Blog. It's a special online craft fair in blogland. Forget the crowds at the malls the day after Thanksgiving, find some great handmade items online in your pajamas! I'll post some new pieces here on the blog for the sale, and you can go to the ShabbyInTheCity Blog for other artists and crafters participating. It's going to be lots of fun...I'll hope you'll join me!

Just got back home

We just got back home last night, from our mini trip to Orlando. You know it was a good, relaxing, fun vacation when you go for 2 days, and come home feeling like you've been gone a week. We ended up not going to Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival. Which was a very good thing, because Wine Husband would have ended up working, or seeing others from the industry and we would have lost him to the grown up business world. Instead, we spent 2 days at Universal...which was a blast. It was still a little hot for October, but most of the lines for the rides had 5-10 minute waits. As you can see in the picture, Logan had the best time. Here she is riding the carousel in Dr. Seuss land. It was a great time...but now it's back to work for mom!Pin It

Look at Me Now!

LaLa is growing up so fast. She is officially weaned from formula and eating lots of seeds, fruits and veggies. She also surprised me with her first flight (totally unexpected) across the studio today! Tomorrow, I'm leaving with Wine Husband (aka Danny), Luke and Logan for a little short trip to Orlando. School is out here on Monday and Tuesday. We're going to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival (wonder why?) and Universal. I will try to post while I'm gone...but it might be hard. Have a great weekend everyone!Pin It

Temptation Friday

New items for Temptation Friday! I moved everything to the new etsy Gypsy Blue shop to make things easier to purchase.

These are beautiful porcelain bird finials from Belgium. They look very vintage. The cool thing is that the birds can be separated from the base, so you could incorporate them in your art. They also look really great on display. I also added some galvanized tin cans, which would be great for candle making. Click here to go to the etsy store!

An Old Friend is back!!!

I can't believe it! Today the postman delivered my first issue of the New Victoria magazine. Back during the summer, I got a postcard letting me know that my all time favorite magazine was coming back. Oh...I have waited for this day a long time! For years, I scoured ebay looking for back issues, only to get defeated when the bidding went sky high. Guess, there was a lot of others missing the magazine too. But, now it's back in all it's glory! What's even more spectacular is that it still looks like the original. I've only flipped through it, but it was so nice to see all the things I originally loved still there! I'm going to save it for this evening to devour over a glass of tea, and no interruptions. happy day!!! Now, if I can only get my artwork in it...life would be even more sweet.

Creative Every Day Challenge

I can't believe that it's been a year since I made this mixed media art doll sculpture for Halloween. And things have kept me so busy, that I haven't had a chance to make any for this year. I've made lots of art, but sometimes it seems that I can't find the time to make some really fun new stuff...even if it's just art for me. So, I decided to join the Creative Every Day Challenge. Starting November, I'm going to take the time to create every day...just for me. Sometimes, I get bogged down with the business end of my art, that I forget to just play. I'll update what I do each day, here on the blog. I know it's going to be a great growing experience for me, as an artist. So...do any of you want to join me?Pin It

A New Etsy Shop

I've been saying that I was going to do it for a long time. As a mixed media artist, I am always on the hunt for new, unique, interesting things to use in my art. Well, my hunt never ends...and I end up with more supplies than time. My husband always said that I should open an art supply store! So, I did. It's a little online boutique of some interesting quirky things to use in your art.

Here's a link to the store: Gypsy Blue

I also started a blog for Gypsy Blue. You can get to it by http://gypsyblueart.blogspot.com/. I want to introduce the new finds and share what others have made with them. I hope it will provide lots of inspiration for all of us.

Much love and many blessings,
WyannePin It

Temptation Friday

Here are some goodies for you. If you would like to purchase something, please let me know in the comments. I'll also need to have your email address to send the PayPal invoice. All prices include standard shipping in the US and Canada. Thanks....have fun! You can click the photos to see images larger.

Set of 24 Bottlecaps. Some more vintage than others. Unused, sides are not pushed in or out from being on a bottle. Some have cork in them. Some minor surface scratches from age, etc. $3.00 includes shipping.

Glass Beads. 3 strands. Colors are a little more muted, and vintage looking than the photo shows. 2 strands are 7mm and 1 strand is 10mm. 36 beads on the 10mm strand, and apx. 45 beads on each 7mm strand. The beads are glass and vary slightly in size. They each have pink rose type flowers and gold accents. The colors are very pretty. All three strands $12.00 includes shipping.

Quirky vintage plastic and fabric Christmas ornaments lot. Odd assortment of ornaments made from plastic and fabrics. They are in various degrees of condition. Some are good, others have missing eyes, holes, or paint that has rubbed off or where it isn't supposed to be. Fun for altered art and kitsch Christmas art. $5.00 includes shipping.

Brass Fairy Locket. Raw brass which can easily be shined up. Has three places for rhinestones, but looks great without them. 2" long. Hinge works great. Has space inside for a 1 1/8" X 1 1/2" photo or collage. $7.00 includes shipping.

Soldered Fairy Charm. This was a practice charm that is not soldered as perfectly as I would have liked. The fairy is behind glass. She has been hand painted with watercolors. There is a loop at the bottom for a hanging bead. I'll be happy to add one for you, just tell me what you would like (color). That would change the cost to an additional $1.00. She measures 1 3/4" long loop to loop. $7.00 includes shipping. $8.00 if dangling bead is added.

Trick or Treat Halloween Soldered Charm. Another practice charm that didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. It has two girl pals with paper party hats and the words Trick or Treat collaged on. $6.00 includes shipping.Pin It

Update on Lala the parrotlet: She is eating millet (a type of bird seed), chirping and singing. And today she sat on a perch for the 1st time. Not to bad when you are only about 4 weeks old. Here's a pic from today.Pin It

Introducing.....

Meet Lala. She is a 3 week old parrotlet, that we adopted this weekend. She's so tiny, about 3 inches from head to tail. I'm feeding her formula through a syringe, 4 times a day. She is so sweet. Our whole family is totally smitten with her. I'll post more about her later, but I just wanted everyone to meet her.Pin It
