just when I was feeling a little down....

Yesterday, Wine Husband had to catch a flight to Atlanta because his Dad is in the hospital. Pops isn't doing too good. It's sad because he's the last of my kid's grandparents still with us. I have a special place for Pops in my heart. Although Wine Husband, loves to take credit for convincing me to be an artist instead of going to law school. It was really Pops. During our first meeting, Pops told me that I should be an artist, and forget about law school. This was big time for me...because he was a father figure with lots of life experience...telling me to do this. It was the icing on the final decision that I needed. So...say a few prayers and send lots of positive thoughts.

Then to make things a little more challenging...Logan is getting sick. I hope it's just a little cold. She has the sniffles, a low grade fever and a cough. But, it always seems to happen when Daddy has to go out of town. Hmmmm...could there be a correlation there?

But, on a bright note. I had a delightful surprise this morning. Someone made a video response to my video! She made my day and I thought I would share it with you. Stop by and visit her blog too at mystele.blogspot.com.

Going to get shipments ready now. Thanks for all your love and support. You guys are the best.

one more week.....

Just one more week until the contest drawing at noon, June 30th! If you are just tuning in...you could win an 18" x 24" commission painting. A special custom painting just for you. Details on how to enter are below...

Meanwhile...lots of new work for you on Ebay and Etsy! I even finally made another video for you. I found some wonderful vintage wall decor birdcages at an estate sale. I took one apart, and used it for my "Captured Fairy" painting (shown above). Here's the video below:

I hope you enjoy it. Meanwhile...I'm back to work. Wine Husband and my son Luke are helping me in the studio this summer...which is SO INCREDIBLY FANTASTIC!!!! Eventually, Wine Husband will be handling all the shipments, but right now I'm having to spend a lot of time showing him how "I like it done". I never realized how set in my ways, I had become...there's another word for it...starts with an "a". I need to loosen it up some....it's just hard when you've been doing it all yourself for 10 years. If I can let go some and let him help me more...I'll have more time to create...

Here is some of the new work at Ebay and Etsy. You can click on the image to find out more info.

Ta Ta....that's it for now junebug!

a good mess....

My mother was constantly telling me that my "hair was such a mess that it looked like a bird nest". I always thought that was pretty cool, as a child. And now as I've grown up and become an artist...I've learned that good things can come from messes. It's all how you look at it.

So...I consider myself...a good mess. I constantly make messes around me. My studio is a mess. My purse is a mess...and forget about knowing where my cell phone is. My clothes are usually a mess with paint and beeswax stains. I can barely remember my own phone numbers...actually I probably could if they weren't composed of numbers...my artistic brain just can't wrap itself around remembering any types of numbers. My car is a mess. And the list probably goes on and on.

But, that's okay. Because if things were any different...I wouldn't be Wyanne. Despite my messes...my good always shines through them. It shines through my art, through my family, and through my heart. And I am ever so grateful to be surrounded by those who can look past my flaws and see that I'm really a very GOOD mess.

Love to all the other good and hot messes out there!
Wyanne

PS. Being the good mess that I am...I've extended the Commission Painting Contest Drawing until June 30th. So there's still time to get your entries in to WIN a custom 18" x 24" painting by me.

All orders from Etsy, Ebay and my website will be eligible. For every $20 that you spend, your name will be entered. So, if you spend $100, you'll get 5 entries! Spend over $100 and your entries are doubled!!!

The drawing will be June 30th at noon, with a video posted here on the blog of the winning entry! So good luck to everyone...and thank you so much. XOXOXOX!!!!Pin It

a happy mistake...

Saturday, I spent the afternoon creating art with my 7 year old daughter, Logan. She proudly drew a cute little hedgehog for one of her teachers. I suggested that she paint it. So, she smiled genuinely and went right to it. Well, it smeared and didn't come out like she wanted. She cried and fumed. I tried to talk to her about, "happy mistakes." I explained that lots of time when I make a mistake...I walk away, and come back later and realize that it wasn't a mistake after all. I learn a new technique or stretch my wings a little as an artist by not staying in my comfort zone. She listened and gave it about 10 minutes and stomped her foot and whined that it didn't work. I explained that she might have to give it a little bit more time than that. So a few hours later, she came back and said, "You know Mom...you were right. I like him now...he looks fuzzy". I smiled my "all knowing Mom smile"...and patted myself on the back for getting through that one.

Sunday, at the studio I was working on the painting above. I was very happy with the way it was coming about. I left it for awhile to tend to some other things. Little did I notice that Logan was widely painting her watercolors a little too close to mine. Later, she came running up to me and exclaimed, "Mom...guess what...I made Happy Mistakes on your painting". I cringed and tried to hold it together. As I went to check out the damage...I found that various drops of water and paint had randomly hit my painting. There wasn't any on their faces luckily...just the background. I agreed that they were certainly somewhat Happy Mistakes and I'd try to work with them. The only thing was I had finished the painting. I decided to sleep on it overnight.

I came back this morning....took a deep breath and assessed the damage. The color droplets were not in the right colors and it didn't look right. And then it hit me...cover them with acrylic. So, I took my pinkie finger and pale blue acrylic and made random dots over her "happy mistakes". To my surprise...it was exactly what it needed...and it was a "Happy Mistake" after all.....whew...

So, these paintings are part of a new series that I'm working on. Everyone is always asking me for works geared more towards little boys. So, I hope they like them. One is one Ebay and the other on etsy.
Well...I'm back to work now. Still waiting on my new assistant from the Universe.....

spellbound

Did you see her?....she just marched right over and cast a magic spell on me. She said, " Here's your dream studio, here's a new gallery boutique for you, here are wonderful customers both online and in town, here's fabulous art supplies to have fun with, here is fantastic new jewelry ideas, here is your beach, and your over abundance of sunny days...all just for you." Wow...isn't that incredible. My head is still spinning..........

Wanna know a secret....she's really me....and I manifested all those things with lots of help from the Universe. I am so blessed, I am so overcome with tremendous joy and gratitude. As I sit here and type, I am brought to tears with how things have happened so quickly...in a year or less. Wow...

I'm thrilled to let you know that you can find my artwork and jewelry at some of your local stores and galleries now. How cool is that!

Here are some of the fabulous places you can find my creations:

Bambinoland
is a fabulous online store. They are having their grand opening of their brick and mortar store in Fountain City, WI, this weekend.

La Vie De Luxe is a store in Baton Rouge, LA. They are having their grand opening June 20th!

The Thornton Gallery in Thornton, PA is carrying both my artwork and jewelry!

and

VoluptuArt
in CA is carrying lots of my Big Divas!

A very big thank you for these incredible stores and galleries for believing in me. If you live near any of them...be sure to visit and thank them too.

Well, as I'm knee deep in shipments, paint, and jewelry parts....I just can't help but wonder why I couldn't have manifested an assistant too. You know, one like Jennifer Hudson's character in Sex in the City. She was the assistant sent from heaven. I need one of those too. So, there I said it....I hope it gets the wheels in motion with the Universe.

So, thank you all once again for making all this happen for me. You are the best. And you truly have me spellbound.

Love,
Wyanne

Sex And The City

Wine Husband arrived back on the Island after his 2 1/2 week business trip. Doing the single working mom thing while he was gone...was not easy. So, I made him suffer through the 2 hr and 20 minute, chick flick, "Sex and the City". I heard him laugh a couple of times during the film...and saw him check his watch more than once. But...I don't feel bad. It was so worth it. I was a big fan of the HBO series...and the movie didn't let me down. I enjoyed all the stories of all the gals...and the fashion...and the jewelry....it was too much fun. Highly Recommended. :)

I did finish a new painting that I put up on Ebay. It's a 12" x 12" painting on watercolor paper...but I mounted it on canvas, and then beeswaxed it for the final finish. I thought it would make it easier on the customer to not have to have it framed. It's called, "Apple of my Eye".

Remember the drawing for the custom commission painting is June 16th! So there's still plenty of time to get your entries in! Just make any purchase at etsy, ebay or wyanne.com to be entered. You can get more info on the post below. :)

So, that's it for now. I have lots of shipments to prepare. Thank you so much!!!!
